Innards look much cheaper than Boss’s stuff but for £5 vs £45. I ordered one once, and was surprised to find it was half metal in its build lol. But they do even slot together just like the fs-5l do. They don’t have polarity switching available though. The bespeco pedals are available from dv247 for like £5 or something ridiculous, and they are a clone of the Boss fs-5l. Might wanna google for Boss Fs-6 and Katana to see if anyone else has used it to good effect, just incase its somehow incompatible! I presume that should all work, as its basically the same as the Boss recommended double Fs-5L’s. To go back to your suggestion in your original post, the Fs-6 should work fine, you’ll need to set both sides to latching and as it has 3 outputs (left mono, right mono and stereo) you can choose whether to use a dual mono to stereo 1/4” Y cable, or a Stereo to Stereo 1/4” cable. its also active, so requires a battery or a boss style centre negative mains adaptor. Its £60 but you can choose your led colours. I would presume he has wired some wizardry in so as to let you change from say Bank A channel 1 to Bank B channel 2 just by selecting whatever channel or bank’s footswitch it is that you wanted, in one switch. Its a 4 channel footswitch also built by bright onion which appears perfectly suited to the katana 50. He builds one with leds too for an extra £10. I imagine for that mini dual latching footswitch you could opt for its single stereo output, and use a stereo to stereo 1/4” cable to plug it into the amp. Thats basically the exact same as the vein tap pedal you linked to. It doesnt need batteries or power to work it says. One of their products is basically a Boss Fs6 clone (which is effectively two Boss fs-5l’s but in one housing) which is this: I recently bought a true bypass loop pedal from them, and I’ve gotta say, it came quick, works exactly as it should etc, and has the brightest led on the board lol! It works great, but it requires a bit of tap dancing sometimes.įor example, if I want to change from Bank 1 Channel 1, to Bank 2 Channel 2, you need to press the bank footswitch then the channel footswitch, which takes a second or so longer depending how fast you are!īright onion pedals (well reviewed everywhere) are a Brighton based pedal company who make to order. Apparently the 100 has a presence control.maybe that will help.I use 2 Fs5-L’s and a double mono to single stereo 1/4” Y cable. Maybe I’ll try the Katana 100, instead of the 50. I refuse to think that an amp that so many seem to love so much, sounds so bad.I’m sure it’s just my ears. Maybe it was the ‘atmosphere’ I was trying it in.maybe it was the American ‘elite’ Strat I was trying it with.maybe I was just tired and hyped myself up about it too much, maybe my hands will never sound good using Boss effects.I will give it a second shot though. The clean was ok, but I found it very mid scooped (even when I dimed the mids on the eq), and all the drive sounds, sounded fizzy.same issues I’ve had when trying out the blues driver.I’m thinking I will give it a couple of days, and go back to give it another shot, maybe bring my own guitar this time.I really do want to like this amp. I wanted soooo bad to love this amp and own one, but after 1/2 hr in the music store, I just couldn’t dial in a good tone. Went and tried one today, so very excited and prepared to be blown away on the spot.I wasn’t. I’ve been hearing about, reading about, and watching a ton of videos on the new Boss Katana 50 amp.it has rave reviews and sounds soooo amazing in the YouTube vids.
